INTERNET PURCHASES FROM US STORES BY VENEZUELANS INCREASE BY ALMOST 300% AND RESULT IN DELAYS IN DELIVERY OF MERCHANDISE. According to an article published in the Caracas newspaper El Universal, purchases made via the Internet using credit cards from stores outside of the country rose to more than 4 billion dollars between January and November 2007. This trend continued and increased during the holidays and even into January 2008. Trans-Express is taking the necessary steps to ensure the delivery of merchandise received at its headquarters in Miami, with final destination to the South American country. These measures include expediting the processing of orders in the US as well as in Venezuela. Even though some delays have occurred due to the excessively high volume experienced, a steady increase in deliveries can be expected during the coming weeks. |
